was the world cup a soccer tournament or football tournament? On my tivo menu here in the US it says World Cup Soccer, but on the actual station it just says World Cup Final. Please don't give me dirty looks if I say soccer...but if I visit Europe I'd be smart enough not to say it... Not into sports but I love the comraderie and the fact that European men of opposing teams can give each other hugs (even with their shirts off!) after the game...never seen it over here...

i guess i should've specified...we call public toilets (is that what you say?) bathroom, even though there's no bath never could figure that out. and we're not "resting" in them, so why restroom?!?! Me hubby calls em washrooms.

do you have to pay a toll on a freeway? ;D he! he! nope! it's freeee! do you "hit the pavement" when looking for a job? (that's what we say, and for us, pavement means the surface of a road, except in this case I don't think you want to be walking in the street with cars in your best suit!) also...do you put in your "2 cents" when griping about something (is that a completely American saying)...or do you say 2 p's?

L'il things I've noticed...
Last nite on sytycd Cat said (about the dancers learning the new dance style) "they didn't take to it straight away" Americans tend to say "right away"--this show has British writers! hehe! (yet another thing most are unaware of and end up taking out on Cat)
British: Go on! American: Come on! This is the one time where coming and going mean the same thing. Go figure.
British: I've not a clue American: I haven't a clue British: loads of stuff American: lots of stuff
Of course we're always influencing each other, so things might be different for different people at different times and so on...

its weird how many little differences there are that must be why there was a guy on the SYTYCD board critising Cat's grammer ;D its the whole of the UK that has bad grammer
also people on there dont like it when Cat says Ameri-ker

Nigel does it too! esp when talking back and forth with cat it comes out more...how cute!
I noticed Simon does it too (not so much now, but when he first started i remember him saying "Amander", but no one complains about HIM...
and...THE biggest song in the 90s...Champagne Supernova...hello!
btw, it doesn't matter where you go, everyone's got bad grammar, meself included, that's just a fact of life--these people want to make an issue about it just because it's Cat!
