i wonder if that word came around cuz they're so quiet compared to dress shoes/high heels, you can actually "sneak up" on people in sneakers! it probably caught people off guard when they were first invented! ;D also, we say oatmeal and u say porridge...unless we are telling the story of goldilocks and the three bears, then it's porridge ![:P](http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/4070/iconrazzim4.gif)

I'm not very shy so I am going to go for this one. Eric, the word for bottom that you were talking about, is it fanny? Because I know in australia, fanny is the front part of a girl's privates, not the behind. ![;)](http://img344.imageshack.us/img344/9967/iconwinkdg5.gif) Is it the same in the UK?

lol ;D
when people--oops, americans--try and imitate the brits, they say the word bl**dy as if it's nothing, but isn't it comparable to our f-word? like, it's a really bad word, isn't it? (it doesn't have any meaning here.)
just out of curiosity, when hell's kitchen/kitchen nightmares plays, do they bleep practically everything like they do here? i mean, how r the censors?

it depends on the channel and the time gordon ramseys f word and kitchen nightmares are broadcast after 9pm so most words are just left but the really bad ones get bleeped out but im not really a fan of either show so im not completely sure. gordon only did our first series of hells kitchen but i didnt watch it so im nt sure (it was on against big brother ;D) bbc1 have a bad habit of bleeping out everything especially on johnathon ross which is why i don't watch it because every other word is bleeped out. itv do use the bleeper a bit, but not a lot and channel 4 only use it when they need to. not sure about five, i dont watch it hope i helped ![;)](http://img344.imageshack.us/img344/9967/iconwinkdg5.gif)
